When I go to mixology conferences around the country, I am fortunate enough to meet dozens of bartenders, distillers, and other dignitaries of the spirits world. Bloody Marys, literally and figuratively, are always on everyone’s lips! The latest buzz in the industry, at least as far as Bloody Marys are concerned, is ginger. I didn’t believe it at first either, but don’t knock it ’til you’ve tried it. It gives an unexpected kind of heat that plays well with your typical Bloody Mary spice profile. If you’re looking for something new and different in your Bloodies, this may be right up your alley.
Here are some more reasons to add ginger to your life. In my book, and in my wellness classes that I teach, I talk a lot about its medicinal and sexual properties.
- Maintains good circulation.
- Helps with motion sickness.
- Prevents colds and flu.
- Relieves tummyaches.
- Reduces pain and inflammation just like Tylenol or Advil
- Increases sex drive.
- Detoxifies the bowels and kidneys.
- Calms heartburn.
- Helps with sexual performance.
- Good for digestion.
